As Magda Gerber said “We should allow time and space for natural progression through self discovery.”  Our baby and toddler resources support Te Whariki strand 5 Exploration. They allow babies to gain confidence in and control of their bodies, learn strategies for active exploration, thinking and reasoning and develop working theories for making sense of the natural, social, physical and material worlds.

Our wooden resources are beautifully simple by design. Many have the natural grain intact for sensory exploration and natural antiseptic properties. If dyed, natural dyes are used. Many use shades of a single colour, to allow children to discover natural subtleties. If waxed, natural bees wax is used. We have mouthing and grasping resources such as rattles, rolling objects of various textures, simple stacking and posting, pushing and pulling , interactive and open ended resources.
