Construction & Engineering
“Play is the highest form of research.” Albert Einstein
Construction play helps children to practice the scientific method of experimentation, observation and cause and effect. It introduces maths concepts of size, shape, area, geometry, measurement, and equivalence. It encourages children to share, take turns, listen and communicate with each other and by doing so develop language skills. The open ended nature of construction lends itself to playing a key role in dramatic play activities fostering creativity. It also allows children to hone their motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
Every Educaid’s open ended construction resources include a variety of wooden blocks, wooden sensory blocks, wooden architectural blocks, hammer and nail sets, translucent building bricks, giant blocks, Mobilo, PolyM, Polydron, Straws and Connectors, Gears, Klikko, Zometool and Magnetic construction sets.
